Kaspersky is one of the oldest antivirus programs out there. They have one of the best as well. In fact, they are definitely better than Avast in my opinion. I know a lot of people think Kaspersky is no good because of some of the rumors about it so let me help you dispel those fears:
1. Kaspersky was not made by Russian hackers or the Russian Government
2. Yes, Kaspersky was made in Russia but that does not mean they are agents of the Russian governement.
3. It is very privacy driven, while also giving it's users many customization options.
I think if you give it a try, you'll like it. Plus, you don't have to pay for it. The protection you get for free is far superior to any paid service, except Kaspersky of course, and remains light on system resources. I have a laptop with a 1.10GHZ Quad Core Pentium Processor, running Windows 10 with 8 GB of RAM and I have not seen any performance issues using Kaspersky on it. I have a Celeron laptop and same thing, it's just as slow as it was before. No performance decrease in the slightest, even during gaming.
Point is, I think Kaspersky is one of the best antivirus programs you can get and Kaspersky Security Cloud Free is the best free program you can get. If you're looking for a new antivirus, definitely at least try it. I know you'll like it and if you don't, just uninstall it and use something else.
