12/12/2024 - What is with Ubuntu?

Linux has always been a hobby of mine, ever since Ubuntu version 8.04. It was my first foray into the Linux world. I fell in love with it and stuck with it until Version 11.04. Even then, I switched back and forth. I switched from Ubuntu to Linux Mint and stuck with that for many years. Now, I use Manjaro on my Desktop Gaming PC and Debian (specifically LMDE) on my work laptop. (It's mine but I only use it for my job) However, Ubuntu seems to be failing lately. It's slow and buggy. I recently used Ubuntu Mate on a virtual machine and it used about 1 GB of memory. However, LMDE with cinnamon is using 950 MB of memory. Something is happening with Ubuntu and it's not good.
